SOUTHAVEN (AP) — Authorities say an 18-year-old man has died of injuries he sustained when he fell under the wheels of a pickup truck.

Kao Salee died Tuesday at the Regional Medical Center at Memphis.

Southaven Deputy Police Chief Steve Pirtle says Salee was in the parking lot of the Southcrest Lake Apartments on Tuesday when a friend offered to take him a short distance to his car.

Pirtle says instead of getting in the truck, Salee jumped up on the hood. He says the truck hit a bump, Salee lost his grip and fell under the wheels.

Pirtle says no charges will be filed in the incident.
