Reading fair winners announced

West Jones Elementary recently held a reading fair. The first place winner for the kindergarten group project was Shandra Benson and Jan Crocker's class with the book The Grouchy Ladybug by Eric Carle.   Rebekah Ward and Mrs. Heather Sanders' class placed second. Lana Sellers, Miriam Perkins, and Nicki Hinton's class placed third. The second grade individual project winners were:  First Place, Grace Taylor; Second Place, Emma DeSantis; Third Place, Bailee Bynum (not pictured). Honorable Mention were:  Ashley Bell, Jada Bright, Sarah Brownlee, Brody Busby, Graham Cranford, Conner Coleman, Maylen Dry, Alyssa Ezell, Anna Ford, Dalton Files, Alyssa Garick, Savannah Hall, Koley Ham, Emily Harlson, Kennedy Jordan, Caleb Mauldin, Tyler McAlpin, Evan Pitts, Parker Robinson, Clayton Smith, Brayden Stephenson, Bryce Turner, Joshua Thurman, Jonah Walters and Byron Young.

    The oil paintings of Andrea Kostyal will be on display at the Eula Bass Lewis art gallery at Jones County Junior College through February 17.  The Hattiesburg resident and native of Hungary, has been creating art since early childhood.  Abstract collage paintings have been her focus since moving to the U.S. in 2001.

Boundaries is the term we use to define what helps us feel safe and comfortable in relationships. We have all had the experience of feeling like another person was closer to us physically than was comfortable. So too it is important to define for yourself how close you want to be with others emotionally. Naturally, this varies with who the other person is.
