Northeast Jones FFA Chapter Officers and Advisors recently returned from National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana with two national awards.
The chapter received the Bronze Award for their Chapter Scrapbook.
The scrapbook, which received first place in state competition, chronicled the chapter’s many activities from August of 2007 through April of 2008.
The chapter also received a $1,000 grant for renovation of the school greenhouse.
“Our greenhouse was damaged by Hurricane Katrina,” said Rod Tolbert, NEJ Ag Instructor and FFA Advisor. “This money will enable us to make necessary repairs.”
“National FFA Convention is an awesome experience,” said chapter president Blake Weems. “We were really excited to be able to be able to gain national recognition for our chapter and our school! We feel like we’ve won a national championship!”
The group was accompanied by NEJ FFA Alumni members Phyllis Wagnon and Michelle Pryor.

Boundaries
Just as each of us has a need for physical safety, we also have a need for emotional or psychological safety. Boundaries is the term we use to define what helps us feel safe and comfortable in relationships. We have all had the experience of feeling like another person was closer to us physically than was comfortable. So too it is important to define for yourself how close you want to be with others emotionally. Naturally, this varies with who the other person is.
