Jones County’s Junior Miss 2011 is Kay’ce Williams. Williams is the daughter of Kay and Robert Dykes and Craig Williams. She is a junior at South Jones and is a member of South Jones Company. She also won the Interview, Fitness and Self Expression awards. She placed first alternate in Talent and second alternate in Scholastics. She won the Spirit of Junior Miss award which is voted on by the contestants. She will represent Jones County in Mississipi’s Junior Miss in July. First alternate was Kendal Smith, daughter of Patti and Ed Smith. She won the Scholastic and Talent awards and placed first alternate in Fitness. Second alternate was LeighAnn Pacific, daughter of Jeannene and Larry Pacific Jr. She placed second alternate in Fitness and Talent. Hope Perkins,daughter of Marlana Hedgepeth and Jerry Perkins, placed first alternate in Scholastics and Interview and second alternate in Self Expression. Haley Richardson,daughter of Sheila and Melvin Richardson, placed second alternate in Interview. Breonka Crosby, daughter of Helen and Alonozo Crosby, won the Be Your Best Self Essay. Distinguished Young Women
The Distinguished Young Woman of Jones County 2013 program will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, at the Bush Fine Arts Building at Jones Junior College.

JCJC’s art gallery features Hattiesburg-Hungarian artist
The oil paintings of Andrea Kostyal will be on display at the Eula Bass Lewis art gallery at Jones County Junior College through February 17. The Hattiesburg resident and native of Hungary, has been creating art since early childhood. Abstract collage paintings have been her focus since moving to the U.S. in 2001.

We have all had the experience of feeling like another person was closer to us physically than was comfortable.
