Arbor Day in Sandersville
The Sandersville Urban Tree Board invites the public to celebrate Arbor Day from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, at the Sandersville City Hall.
Hardwood and pine trees have been donated by the Mississippi Urban Forestry Council and will be distributed free of charge to the public. The celebration will continue at 11 a.m. at the new police station on Hawkes Rd., where a tree will be planted in honor of our former Mayor Pat Lightsey. Come celebrate Arbor Day with us.
Valentine dance
The American Legion, Post 11, will host a Valentine Dance beginning at 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 13. Black Creek Band will be performing. The American Legion is located at 1108 N. 9th Ave. $5 per person. Come and support the veterans.

Distinguished Young Women
The Distinguished Young Woman of Jones County 2013 program will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, at the Bush Fine Arts Building at Jones Junior College.

JCJC’s art gallery features Hattiesburg-Hungarian artist
The oil paintings of Andrea Kostyal will be on display at the Eula Bass Lewis art gallery at Jones County Junior College through February 17. The Hattiesburg resident and native of Hungary, has been creating art since early childhood. Abstract collage paintings have been her focus since moving to the U.S. in 2001.

Just as each of us has a need for physical safety, we also have a need for emotional or psychological safety. Boundaries is the term we use to define what helps us feel safe and comfortable in relationships. We have all had the experience of feeling like another person was closer to us physically than was comfortable.
