Ray J. Adams

Ray J. Adams, 63, of the Sharon community died Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009 at South Central Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church of Sharon, with burial to follow in Sharon Cemetery. Rev. Dan Watts will officiate.

Ray was a faithful Christian and serving God all of his life. He loved his family and his church family unconditionally and was probably West Jones biggest fan.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Winford Adams and Nettie Carter Adams; and sister, Carolyn Adams Holifield.

He is survived by a sister, Dovie Anderson of Laurel; three nephews, three nieces, seven great-nieces, five great-nephews, 20 great-great nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Barry Ulmer, Whitney Sims, Tarrell Yarbrough, Jessie Blackwell, Thomas Pitts and Cecil Miller.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Howard Sims, Wayne Meadows, Cecil Singleton, Lewis Long and Johnny Brewer.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church of Sharon.

Memory Chapel is in charge of services
