Ray H. Jones

Ray H. Jones, 77, of Laurel, died Thursday, July 9, 2009, at South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 14, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Laurel with burial in Nora Davis Cemetery.

He served in the U.S. Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Ira Jones Sr. and Cammie Jones; step-mother, Geneva Jones; five brothers, Earnest Jones, Otis Jones, Willie L. Jones, James Ira Jones Jr. and Eugene Jones; and a sister, Ocie Bradford.

Survivors include seven brothers, James M. (Katie) Jones of Laurel; Wiley F. (Earlean) Jones of Lorman; Roger D. (Jimmie) Jones of New Augusta; Rev. Clifford E. (Lillie) Jones of Alburn, Ala.; Grover F. Jones of Los Angeles, Calif.; John H. (Etta) Jones of Georgetown, Ky.; and Daniel L. (Bernice) Jones of Waynesboro; two sisters, Vernell Metoyer of Los Angeles, Calif., and Mattie (Clarence) Clanton of Inglewood Calif.; special friend, Myrtis Cotton of Laurel; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 13, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church.
