Margie M. Cook

Margie M. Cook, 95, of Collins, died Monday, March 31, 2008.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. this morning at Billy King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins. Burial will be in the Lone Star Cemetery in Collins.

Mrs. Cook was preceded in death her parents, John Oliver Hooks and Viola Jane Hooks; husband, Buford C. Cook; and sons, Charles Ray Myers and Lewis Edward Myers.

She is survived by her sons, Gary Cook of Collins and Oliver Chapman Myers of Walker, La.; daughters, Theresa C. Magee and Gloria Lumetta, both of Collins, and Cherri Clement of Livingston, La.

Billy King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.



Gloria Dubose

Gloria Dubose, 63, of Vossburg, died Friday, March 28, 2008, at Infinity Hospice in Meridian.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 3, 2008, at William Chapel United Methodist Church in Vossburg, with burial in William Chapel Cemetery in Vossburg. The Rev. Tanya Evans will officiate.

She was preceded in death by her father, Lewis McDonald, Sr.

She is survived by her mother, Alma McDonald of Vossburg; a daughter, Belinda Dubose of Rockford, Ill.; a brother, Lewis McDonald, Jr. of Maryville, In.; two sisters, Naretha Coleman of Vossburg, Selina Jordan of Laurel; and two grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at William Chapel United Methodist Church in Vossburg.

Bay Springs Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.



Ada Mae Holliman

Ada Mae Holliman, 95, of Ovett, died Monday, March 31, 2008, at South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Jones & Son Funeral Home in Richton with burial in Mt. Olive Methodist Church Cemetery in Ovett.

Mrs. Holliman was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Olive United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William David Holliman and five daughters, Lois Goldman, Gladys Marie Smith, Annie Mae Holliman, Mary Elizabeth Hinton, and Emma Jean Holliman.

Survivors include her sons, Bobby Joe Holliman, William Oscar Holliman, James Earl Holliman, and John Riley Holliman, all of Ovett, and George Edward Holliman of Petal; daughters, Johnnie Velma Stewart of Cartersville, Ga., Donis Virea Crew of Ovett, Edith Faye LeGros of Greenville, S. C., and Eva Lenell Ford of Petal; sister, Annie Lillian Odom of Richton; 31 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; and 24 great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5:30 until 9 p.m. this evening at Jones & Son Funeral Home in Richton, which is in charge of the arrangements.



Kenneth Mitchell “Mickey” Stevison

Kenneth Mitchell “Mickey” Stevison, 52, of Richton, died Monday, March 31, 2008, at Perry County General Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, April 3, at Mulberry Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. The Revs. Jerry Overstreet and Terrell Stringer will officiate.

Mr. Stevison was a maintenance supervisor at Masonite and a member of Mulberry Missionary Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, Gerald “Buster” Stevison.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra Easterling Stevison of Richton; mother, Lokey Stevison of Richton; son, Justin Stevison of Richton; sisters, Patricia Jean Petty and Sylvia Ann Collins, both of Laurel; and brothers, Rikey Gerald Stevison, Gary Steve Stevison, and Curtis Dean Stevison, all of Richton.

Visitation will begin at 5:30 p.m. this evening and go through the night at Mulberry Missionary Baptist Church.

Jones & Son Funeral Home of Richton is in charge of the arrangements.
