Larry Evans
Larry Evans, 54, of Vossburg, died Tuesday, March 18, 2008, at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 22, at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Vossburg with burial in the church cemetery.
He attended Southside School in Heidelberg and moved to Grand Rapids, Mich., where he completed his high school education. He later moved to New Orleans, La., and lived there until Hurricane Katrina in 2005. He then moved to Heidelberg and joined Friendship Baptist Church.
He married Jewel Mieitzler Evans May 27, 2000. He was a friend to everyone. He always had a kind word and helping hand towards all who came in contact with him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Willie Evans; mother, Annie P. Evans; grandparents; brother, Willie P. Evans; and two brothers-in-law, Johnny Parker and Carl Peters.
Survivors include his lovely wife, Jewel Evans of Vossburg; daughters, Pauline Evans Minor of Metairie, La., and Deshee Evans (Johnell) Singleton of Oklahoma; brothers, John Evans, Jerry Evans, Tommie (Cheryl) Evans, all of Laurel, and Calvin (Effie) Evans of Bay Springs; sisters, Pearl Parker and Mattie Peters, both of Heidelberg; six grandchildren; five step-children, Harry, Chad, Eric, Savannah, and Samantha; four step-grandchildren; four aunts; seven uncles; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Visitation will be this morning from 10 until 11 a.m. at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Vossburg.
Gilmoreās Funeral Home of Heidelberg is in charge of the arrangements.
Terry Lynn Peddicord
Terry Lynn Peddicord, 62, of Laurel, died Friday, March 21, 2008, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Memory Chapel Funeral Home in Laurel with burial in Lake Park Cemetery in Laurel. The Rev. Dan Watts and Rev. Jimmy Hood will officiate.
He was employed by Howard Industries in Quality Control. He served in the U. S. Air Force and was a member of First Baptist Church of Sharon.
Survivors include his wife, Geraldine (Jerri) Peddicord of Laurel; two sons, Robert Windham and his friend Jody Honaker of Pensacola, Fla, and Mike Windham of Wiggins; a granddaughter, Hailey Windham of Ellisville; two brothers, Ricky Peddicord of Atlanta Ga. and Gary Martin of Spring City, Tenn.; a sister, Shirley Miller of Spring City, Tenn.; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Ken Ishee, Van Hendry, Austin Hendry, Joe Hardin, Steve Gavin and John Roden. Honorary Pallbearers will be Wesley Rushing, John Hardin, and the Couples 1 Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church of Sharon.
Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. on Sunday at Memory Chapel Funeral Home in Laurel, which is in charge of the arrangements.
