Mary Frances Ingram Flowers

Mary Frances Ingram Flowers, 80, of Laurel, died Monday, March 17, 2008, at South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 20, at Memory Chapel with burial to follow in Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery. Dr. Cary Kimbrell and the Rev. Valton Douglas will be officiating.

Born August 23, 1927, Mrs. Flowers was a housewife and a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She is preceded in death by her parents, James Buford and Nancy Moss Ingram; four brothers, Theodore Ingram, Sam Ingram, Burl Ingram and Ed Ingram; and two sisters, Vebor Jenkins and Floy Garrett.

Survivors include her husband of 61 years, James Arnold Flowers of Laurel; one son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Carolyn Flowers of Laurel; three daughters and sons-in-law, Janice and Trulon Boykin of Laurel, Beverly and Gale Evans of Northport, Ala., and Candace and Jobie Evans of Ellisville; 13 grandchildren, Marty Boykin, Kerry Roe, Jeremy Flowers, Stacy Junkin, Corey Evans, Aaron Evans, Courtney Bower, Ryan Evans, Haley Evans, Webb Evans, Jonathan Flowers, James Boykin and Sonya Bryant; 22 great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Loiemae Ingram Teneyck of Laurel and Georgena Ingram of Breamaton, Wash.; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers and deacons of Bethlehem Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Memorials may be made to St. Judes Childrens Hospital or the Bethlehem Baptist Church building fund.

Visitation will befrom 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday at Memory Chapel, which is in charge of services.



Patricia Ann Gaddy Jordan

Patricia Ann Gaddy Jordan, 49, of Laurel, died Sunday, March 16, 2008, at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 20, at Morning Star Baptist Church with the Rev. W. C. Davis Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Nora Davis Cemetery.

Ms. Jordan was employed with the East Jasper School District and was a member of Morning Star Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her father, George Gaddy; mother, Cora Gaddy; and sister, Marzella Gaddy.

Survivors include her son, Alfred Jordan Jr.; brothers, Clinton (Nancy) Drummer of Laurel and Leonard (Alice) Drummer of Olympia, Wash.; sisters, Jeannet Boston of Charlotte, N. C., Denise (Charles) Pierce of Charlotte, N. C., and Dorsie (Dwight) Jones of Slidell, La.

Visitation will be held from noon until 1 p.m. Thursday at Morning Star Baptist Church. Chapel of Angels Funeral Home of Laurel is in charge of the arrangements.



Mamie J. Welch

Mamie J. Welch, 85, of the Gitano Community, died Monday, March 17, 2008, at her residence in Gitano.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 19, at Memory Chapel with burial to follow in Welch Cemetery in the Gitano Community. The Rev. Harold Holifield will officiate.

Mrs. Welch was a member of Old Antioch Baptist Church in Gitano. She retired from Reliance Manufacturing.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Edwin E. Welch in 1997 and a daughter, Edna Bates in 2006.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, June Gibson and Ronnie Gibson of Union and the Gitano Community; one brother and sister-in-law, Gail Johnson and Doris Johnson of Ellisville; three grandchildren, Michelle Ishee, Keith Bates and Allison Gibson; five great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Keith Bates, Ben Ishee, Ronnie Gibson, Wayne Pilgrim, Harold Ishee and Andrew Ishee.

Memory Chapel is in charge of services.



Fronie Wheaton

Fronie Wheaton, 85, of Bay Springs, died Friday, March 14, 2008, at the Jasper County Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 22, 2008, at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Montrose, with burial in Community Cemetery in Montrose. The Rev. David Erby will officiate.

She was a dietitian for the Jasper General Hospital. She was a member of Chapel Hill Baptist Church.

She was the daughter of the late Jeff Bennet and the late Monerva (Parker) Bennet.

She is survived by five daughters, Sandra Wheaton Agee and Julia Moore both of Louin, Wanda Trotter of Newton, Essie Mcintoch of Detroit, Mich., Willia Wheaton of Memphis, Tenn.; one son, William C. Wheaton of Louin; two sisters, Fannie Mae Johnson and Annie Lee Mitchel both of Los Angeles, Calif.; two brothers, L. C. Johnson of Louin, O. C. Johnson of Newton; 60 grandchildren; and 105 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, March 21, 2008, at Bay Springs Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.
