LHS Diamond Club meeting

There will be a mandatory Laurel Baseball Diamond Club meeting tonight. All parents, players, and diamond darlings are required to come. The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. in the LHS Library.



Bobcat Baseball-Softball Recruiting Special Friday

Jones County Junior College sports fans can watch live who will be signing to play baseball and softball at JCJC by tuning into www.jcjc.tv beginning at 10:30 a.m. Friday. Lance Pittman, the “Voice of the Bobcats,” will host the special from the Media Room of the C.L. Neill Student Center.



West Jones Football Banquet

The West Jones Football Banquet will be held Thursday, Jan. 28, at the Family Activities Building at Life Church on Hwy 84West. The banquet starts at 6:30 pm. All Mustang fans, family and supporters are welcome to attend. Tickets will be available for purchase at the high school office.



L/JC Dixie Youth Baseball registration at Sportsplex

The Laurel/Jones County Dixie Youth will hold spring baseball registration at the Laurel Sportsplex Thursday, Jan. 28 and Friday, Jan. 29 from 5:30-7:30 p.m., and Saturday, Jan. 30 from 9 am. to 1 p.m. Registration fee is $70 (includes uniform) and each child must provide a copy of a certified birth certificate. Registration forms may also be downloaded at www.ljcdyb.com. The league will consist of four age groups: 5-6, 7-8, 9-10, & 11-12 year olds. For more info, call Michael Howard at 601-422-8626.



LJCSA spring registration

Laurel Jones County Soccer Association will hold spring registration on the following dates, locations and times: Jan. 16 and Jan. 23 from 10 am. to noon at the Laurel Sportsplex soccer fields and William J. Berry High School gym in Heidelberg. For more info, call Chris Coston at 601-283-0649.



JCJC seeks nominations for Sports Hall of Fame

Jones County Junior College is accepting nominations for its Sports Hall of Fame through Feb. 5. JCJC is looking to add five members to the prestigious group. Coaches and athletic directors must be out of active coaching at JCJC for at least three years before nomination. Athletes must have been out of intercollegiate athletics for at least 10 years before nomination. Individuals other than coaches or athletes who have made major contributions to JCJC athletics may also be considered for nomination. Nomination forms and other information regarding the JCJC Sports Hall of Fame are available in the JCJC Alumni/Foundation Office and online at www.jcjc.edu under “Announcements” and on each individual sports page. Lady Bobcat Softball Camp

Jones County Junior College will hold a one-day softball camp for junior varsity and varsity girls on Saturday, Jan. 30, at Ellisville’s Merchant Park. Registration fee is $60 per camper and registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. The first part of the camp will be from 9 a.m.-noon and will focus on offense. Lunch will be served from noon-1 p.m. The second part of the camp will be from 1-4 p.m. and will focus on defense. Make checks payable to Lady Diamond Club.
