United Way golf tourney slated for April 8 at LCC
The 9th Annual Williams Big Pine Classic golf tournament benefiting the United Way and the American Red Cross will be held Thursday, April 8 at Laurel Country Club. LJC Dixie Boys Baseball registration, tryouts

JCJC Alumni Foundation Golf Tournament at LCC
The 11th Jones County Junior College Alumni Foundation Golf Tournament is March 26 at Laurel Country Club. Entry fee is $75 per player. Tournament sponsorships are available for $200 (social sponsor), $400 (corporate). For information, contact Amie Herrington at 601-477-4049.
Adalius Thomas Football Camp scheduled April 17
National Football League Pro Bowl player and former University of Southern Mississippi standout Adalius Thomas is once again hosting the Adalius Thomas Football Camp on the USM campus. April 17th camp is open for boys between the ages of 9 to 17 and is free. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. at M.M. Roberts Stadium and will end at approximately 1:30 p.m. All campers are required to have a signed parental release form before participating. Parents can register their children the morning All campers receive T-shirts, lunch, autographed photo and instruction from Thomas and from some of the best coaches in the area. The South Jones Lady Braves will meet their old nemesis Wayne County here Friday night at 6 p.m. in the finals of the Region 5-5A basketball tournament. South Jones downed county rival West Jones while Wayne County came away with an impressive win over Stone County here Tuesday night.

STATE CHAMPIONS
The Laurel Knight Hawks captured the Mississippi Christian Home Educators (MCHE) state basketball championship Monday in Jackson. In the final game of the double elimination tournament, the Knight Hawks defeated the two year reigning state champions, Jackson Victors, with a final score of 67-64.
