LHS Baseball Boosters hosting ‘Laurel for Life’
The Laurel High School Baseball Booster Club will host “Laurel for Life” on Feb. 18, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at Life Church on Hwy. 84 West. Tickets for the event are $10, and must be purchased by Feb. 12. The event will celebrate Tornado baseball with former and current players, diamond darlings and coaches. Friends and family of Laurel baseball are also encouraged to attend. JCJC seeks former players under Coach A.B. Howard
ELLISVILLE – Jones County Junior College is currently seeking players who played basketball for longtime coach A.B. Howard. JCJC is scheduled to rename Bobcat Gymnasium in honor of Howard during a ceremony between games on Feb. 11 when the Bobcats host Hinds and all former players are invited to be in attendance. Dixie Bassmasters slates Tournament for Feb. 13

STATE CHAMPIONS
The Laurel Knight Hawks captured the Mississippi Christian Home Educators (MCHE) state basketball championship Monday in Jackson. In the final game of the double elimination tournament, the Knight Hawks defeated the two year reigning state champions, Jackson Victors, with a final score of 67-64.
