HEIDELBERG — Heidelberg Academy took a pair of games in their division opener Friday against Russell Christian.

The Lady Rebels (6-4, 1-0) took a 46-24 victory over Russell Christian, while the Rebels (2-3, 1-0) prevailed 61-51.

Lady Rebels 46, Russell Christian 24

Cynthia Hilton scored 14 points and pulled down 13 rebounds to lead the Heidelberg girls, while Kristen Prunera added 13 points and 15 steals. Ashley Reeves scored 10 points and dished out eight assists.

Rebels 61, Russell Christian 51

Skyler Prunera had his first triple-double of the year, scoring 13 points, 11 rebounds and 10 steals to lead the Rebels. Austin McCardle led in scoring with 18 points and had five assists, while Tyler Hodge finished with 12 points.

Heidelberg Academy returns to action Nov. 30 when they play at rival Sylva-Bay Academy.

The Laurel Knight Hawks captured the Mississippi Christian Home Educators (MCHE) state basketball championship Monday in Jackson. In the final game of the double elimination tournament, the Knight Hawks defeated the two year reigning state champions, Jackson Victors, with a final score of 67-64.
