Sandersville basketball registration
The Sandersville Booster Club will hold basketball registration Nov. 5 at 6 p.m. for boys and girls ages 8-13. The registration fee is $40. Registration will take place at the Sandersville Gym by the old school. Bring a copy of a physical and a birth certificate. Football players and cheerleaders physicals are good for one year. Shady Grove basketball registration
The Shady Grove Booster Club will hold basketball registration Tuesday, Nov. 3 and Thursday, Nov. 5, from 5:30-7 p.m. for boys and girls ages 8-13. Registration will be held at the Shady Grove Gym with a registration fee of $65. Please bring a copy of birth certificate at time of registration. Powers basketball registration
The Powers Booster Club will hold basketball registration for players 8 years and older at the Powers Community Center Monday, Nov. 9, at 6:30 p.m. There will be a nurse available to perform the required physicals at a cost of $10 per child. Signup fees due at the time of registration are $65 for first child and $50 for each additional child. The fee for those who played Powers football this year is $50 per child. If a child played for Powers this year, regardless of where they live, they can play for Powers this basketball season, next football season and from here on out.
29th Annual Pleasant Grove VFD Turkey Shoot
Pleasant Grove Volunteer Fire Department will host its 29th annual turkey shoot fundraiser beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, behind Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Twelve gauge, 20 gauge, 16 gauge, and 410 gauge shotguns are all permitted at the turkey shoot. Soft drinks, hamburgers, sausage dogs will be sold at the event. In addition, there will be inflatable fun jump for the children. Another popular part of the shoot is the annual chicken barbecue lunch plates to be available all day. The South Jones Lady Braves will meet their old nemesis Wayne County here Friday night at 6 p.m. in the finals of the Region 5-5A basketball tournament. South Jones downed county rival West Jones while Wayne County came away with an impressive win over Stone County here Tuesday night.
