Auto Plus blanked Coke 9-0 in Saturday afternoon L/JC Dixie Boys baseball play. Corey Kitchens hurled a three-hitter and fanned nine Coke batters in gaining the pitching win. Kitchens also singled in the contest while Paul Aehnlich had two singles for the winners.
Tyler Reeves smashed a double while Austin Brashier, Evan Gieger, Conner Bell, and Jordan Chamberlin all singled. Tyler Roney tripled for Coke while Kolby Shepherd doubled. Scott Etheridge singled while Roney, Paul Clark, and Jared Culpepper all pitched for Coke.
In Friday night play, Auto Plus surprised Howard’s with a 9-5 win while KFC held off a late rally by Holston’s Realty to win 12-8.
Austin Brashier, J.K. West, Corey Kitchens, and Jared Blackledge all singled for Auto Plus while Jordan Chamberlin pitched a complete game for the 9-5 win. Carter Polles smashed two doubles while Dalton Skinner, Darius Dace, and Taylor Byrd added singles for Howard’s. Skinner and Pruitt pitched for Howard’s.
KFC held a 12-3 lead as Holston’s batted for the final time. Holston’s rallied for five runs and had the bases loaded when the game’s last out was recorded.
Braxton Moore sliced two doubles and a single and Seth McDonald tripled and singled twice in leading KFC to the 12-8 win. Chase Smith and Kole Hill each singled and doubled for the winners in their 14-hit attack while Cole Page singled twice.
Brett Herrington and Avery Owens each singled in the game. McDonald was the winning pitcher while Hill recorded a mound save. Jerome Slade drilled three singles while Brett Robinson and Tyler Jones each singled and doubled for Holston’s. Jonathan Welch had two singles while Blake Strickland doubled. Harrison Thomas, Hunter Faler, and William Bender singled. Strickland pitched the complete game for Holston’s.
Elkins will play KFC Monday night 6 p.m.

Lady Braves in title game
The South Jones Lady Braves will meet their old nemesis Wayne County here Friday night at 6 p.m. in the finals of the Region 5-5A basketball tournament. South Jones downed county rival West Jones while Wayne County came away with an impressive win over Stone County here Tuesday night.
