BOONEVILLE – The Jones County Junior College tennis teams blanked Northeast Mississippi Community College 9-0 here Friday afternoon.
The Lady Bobcats are now 4-0, while the men are 3-1.
JCJC was scheduled to face Itawamba Community College at 10 a.m. on Saturday. The Bobcats will face Mississippi Gulf Coast at noon on Tuesday in Biloxi and will host Pearl River at 2 p.m. on Wednesday.
Lady Bobcats 9, Lady Tigers 0
In No. 1 doubles, Mary Carole Kiewit and Meredith Johnson beat Alexandra Kriss and Christina Puckett, 8-2. Tiffany Hudson and Jillian McNeese defeated Cassondra Bishop and Chrisa Holley, 8-3, in No. 2 doubles. Arlette Cochran and Samantha Dickerson downed Cassidy Beasley and Joanna Austin, 8-0, in No. 3 doubles.
Kiewit beat Kriss, 6-1, 6-2, in No. 1 singles, Johnson downed Puckett, 6-4, 7-6 (1), in No. 2 singles, Hudson outlasted Beasley, 6-1, 3-6, 10-6, in No. 3 singles, Cochran blanked Bishop, 6-0, 6-0, in No. 4 singles, Dickerson beat Holley, 6-1, 7-5, in No. 5 singles and Lexi Bowen downed Austin, 6-0, 6-2, in No. 6 singles.

Cade Sherman and Dalton Delk claimed No. 1 doubles over Ben Ferrell and Matt Murphy, 8-1. Tyler Shows and Eric Lynn beat Burt Wilkerson and Witt Lucas, 8-4, in No. 2 doubles. In No. 3 doubles, Armand Deniakos and Nathan Burkett edged Josh Bascomb and Ben Ford, 9-8.
Sherman beat Wilkerson, 6-1, 6-1, in No. 1 singles, Deniakos downed Lucas, 6-3, 6-1, in No. 2 singles and Shows defeated Murphy, 6-0, 6-4, in No. 3 singles. Lynn downed Collin Holley, 6-2, 6-1, in No. 4 singles, Cody Kadoun beat Bascomb, 6-4, 6-0, in No. 5 singles and Burkett defeated Ford, 6-2, 6-0, in No. 6 singles.

STATE CHAMPIONS
The Laurel Knight Hawks captured the Mississippi Christian Home Educators (MCHE) state basketball championship Monday in Jackson. In the final game of the double elimination tournament, the Knight Hawks defeated the two year reigning state champions, Jackson Victors, with a final score of 67-64.
