A family search for a Jones County resident has ended with the man being located and returned home unharmed.
The family of Donald Allen, 54, of Sandersville on Monday began asking for the public’s help in locating him.
Allen had been reported to law enforcement officials this weekend as missing by his family.
Jarvis Allen, Allen’s brother, said his brother was last seen around lunch time on Friday, March 12, 2010.
Donald Allen, who lives with his brother Jarvis Allen in Sandersville, was reportedly last seen after leaving court at the Laurel Police Department.
Jarvis Allen said he has been in contact with the Laurel Police Department and the Jones County Sheriff’s Department concerning his brother’s disappearance.
Capt. Tommy Cox with the Laurel Police confirmed Monday that Jarvis Allen has filed a missing person’s report on Donald Allen and that he had also listed him on NCIC (National Crime Information Center) so if any agency located him, that agency would notify police.
However, Cox said Tuesday that Donald Allen was spotted by an officer of the Laurel Police Department on patrol.
“An officer saw him walking down Beacon Street,” Cox said. “Mr. Allen was found safe and is now home with his family.”
