The Lauren Rogers Museum of Art hosted its second annual Spring Break Festival on the museum’s front lawn. More than 200 kids, along with parents, grandparents, and mentors attended the event to pet animals from the Audubon ZooMobile, string bottlecap necklaces, make newspaper hats, face painting and create owl artwork along with mid-afternoon refreshments. The DeSoto National Forest band, The Blues Rangers provided entertainment and performed songs with natural resource and conservation messages. The theme for all museum events this week is eco-friendly, recycling, and conservation. LRMA will also host Spring Break Art Break this week for students in grades K-6. At left, Kerry Duke, affectionately known as “Nana” to Davis Steed and Kennedy Dale, create bottlecap necklaces, while above, three-year-old, Anna Laura Haden holds her pose while LRMA Education Outreach Coordinator, Angie King, paints the finishing touches to a rainbow and clouds at the face painting booth.
