Man seriously injured Saturday morning

An unidentified man was critically injured in a one-vehicle accident Saturday at 1:50 a.m. at 234 Lower Ovett Road in Ovett. Ovett volunteer first responders discovered a single male occupant had been ejected from the vehicle, and received multiple, life-threatening injuries. The victim was given immediate medical care at the scene and transported by EmServ Ambulance Service to South Central Regional Medical Center for treatment. Units from the Jones Co. Sheriff's Office also responded to the accident scene along with Jones County Fire Coordinator Dan McKenna.
