Jones County deputies have two suspects in custody for their involvement in manufacturing Methamphetamine.
Jason White and Daniel Hodge of Jones County were arrested Monday evening and charged for possession of precursors after deputies discovered numerous precursor chemicals used to manufacture meth at White’s residence on 39 Lucy Road.
Sheriff Alex Hodge said, “Though legislation has been put in place in hopes of alleviating the production of Methamphetamine, we still have those who will continue to make every attempt to manufacture this drug.”
According to Sheriff Hodge, “If you witness a combination of the following signs in your neighborhood or community there may be cause for concern. Some of things you should watch for are: jars, bottles, rubber tubes and buckets lying around, large number of household chemicals such as drain opener, paint thinner, lye or fertilizer, strong chemical odors, a large amount of cold medicine packages lying around, late-night activity, and coffee filters containing sludge or shiny crystals are some of signs that meth is being manufactured.
“It is important to keep in mind that people who manufacture Methamphetamine or any drug for that matter should never be confronted,” Sheriff Hodge added. “The tips and information we receive is very helpful in apprehending those involved in criminal activity. I encourage the public to continue their efforts in combating crime by reporting any illegal drug or criminal activity to law enforcement officials.”
