Crystal Smith has been named Advertising Director at the Laurel Leader-Call.
Smith comes to the Leader-Call from Marion, Ark., where she worked at The Commercial Appeal newspaper in Memphis as a multi-media marketing consultant. She also worked at The DeSoto Times Today newspaper in Hernando, Miss.
She grew up in Carthage and Brandon, and attended Millsaps College in Jackson.
Newspapers have been a big part of her life.
“I literally grew up in the back of The Carthaginian newspaper with my mom in advertising sales,” said Smith. “I look forward to becoming a part of this community, getting to know our advertisers and subscribers, and raising my family here. I feel like I am finally back home in Mississippi and am very excited.”
Smith, who enjoys tennis, bowling, and being involved in church activities, is married with two children, Andrew and Ryan, and resides in Ellisville.
