When I was younger, I heard that when God brings you to something, He will bring you through it. I thought that was a beautiful thought, but at the time I wasn’t going through a major problem. It did not comfort me then like it does now. I think the Lord has brought me through difficulty to tell everyone that this is a true statement.
I never thought I could handle having a head injury and all the unexpected things that come with it. I have had problem after problem, but in spite of them all, God reminds me that He is in control and I am not. God has allowed all these “things” to come into my life so that His beauty can be seen through a very dull mirror.
We all have things that are brought into our lives that we do not agree with, but we do not have to be pulled into the pit of despair. Instead of listening to the god of our feelings, we need to listen to our sovereign Lord who says in effect, “If I have brought you to it, I will bring you through it.” The best part is that He does not bring us to something and leave us to go through it by ourselves. He is with us. There are a lot of “gods” out there, but Christianity is the only faith with a “To and Through” God.

Dear friends, we are now two weeks into the year 2011. Hopefully, our many optimistic thoughts surrounding this New Year are still very bright! So, this is still the time of year to renew our resolve to recover and maintain our spiritual, domestic, vocational, and civil priorities.
