To the editor:
Julie Harper, who carried a sign at the Glen Beck inspired "9-12 Project - We Surround Them" group's protest at Congeressman Gene Taylors office last week saying “Government Healthcare Makes Me Sick,” said there is a need to remind elected officials who put them in office.
Be advised, Ms Harper, Congressman Taylor does hear from those of us who helped put him in office, and that isn't you and the "We Surround Them" crowd. You guys voted for Gene's opponent, John McCay.
You didn't like Gene Taylor back then and now you want him to vote like the minority of you want him to vote.
I have visited in Congressman Taylor's office here in Laurel and in Washington on many occasions to voice my opinion. Even though Congressan Taylor doesn't always vote the way I wish he would, I applaud him for standing up for what he believes to be right thing to do for the people of Mississippi and our nation when he votes, rather than bowing down to the loud voices of a few in the minority. After all, we did give him that right.
