Main Street Baptist Church in Hattiesburg was the setting for the March 15 nuptials of Heather Ann Wright and George Chrisman Odom. Mr. John T. Odom, father of the groom, officiated at the two o’clock ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Allen Wright of Hattiesburg. Grandparents are Mrs. Nelda Sheffield, the late Mr. James Claude Sheffield, Mr. Roy H. Wright, and the late Mrs. Ruby F. Wright, all of Hattiesburg. She is the great-granddaughter of Mrs. Beulah Sheffield Green of Columbus.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John T. Odom of Moselle. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. James C. Tompkins Jr. and the late Mr. and Mrs. George Robert Odom Jr., all of Hattiesburg.

Presented in marriage by her father, the bride wore a strapless ivory satin gown with chapel train designed by Maggie Sottero. It featured a gently ruched bodice of lace embellished with Swarovski crystals, bugle beads, seed beads, and sequins. A ribbon sash accented with a Victorian crystal brooch encircled the waistline. The fingertip veil of silk illusion edged with beaded lace complemented the gown. Her single strand of pearls was an eighteenth birthday gift from her parents. She carried a bouquet of vendela roses, orchids, and stephanotis.

Attending the bride as Maid of honor was Miss Katherine Elizabeth Chance. Bridesmaids were Jennifer Odom Ciobanu and Rachel Blanche Odom, sisters of the groom, Allison Dyess Flynn, Terri Kibodeaux Bryant, and Michelle Leigh Welborn. The attendants wore ice pink dresses by Mori Lee and carried hand tied bouquets of pink roses and hydrangea. Honorary bridesmaids were Sara Kathryn Wright, sister of the bride, Jennifer Duke Payne, and Crystal Pearl Jones.

Cliff Neely Russum served as best man. Groomsmen were Dorin Valeriu Ciobanu, Ronald Phillip Forest Jr., Brian Jerome Harless,Garett Wade Hill, and John Tate Ferrell. Ushers were Franklin Scott Corage, Terrence Terrell Bullock, Byron Keith Crawford, and Ryan Michael Ladner.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a reception in the church’s fellowship hall. The bride’s cake was a multi-tier confection of different flavors decorated with a topping and cascade of vendela roses and accented with the couple’s monogram. The groom's table featured a trio of cakes including a novelty cake designed to represent the groom’s police swat car, complete with its flashing blue lights.

On the eve of the wedding, the groom’s parents entertained the wedding party, family, and friends with a dinner at Trinity Parish Hall. A touching photo tribute to the couple was presented, accompanied by the bride’s recorded solo of “Great Is Thy Faithfulness.”

After a wedding trip to Antigua, Heather and Chris and are at home in Hattiesburg.
