Wayne County avenged their regular season loss to rival West Jones with a 38-21 win Friday in Waynesboro in the quarterfinal round of the Class 5A playoffs. The War Eagles will entertain Moss Point in the South State championship game next Friday.
Meanwhile, Taylorsville knocked off Puckett, 40-26 to reach the 2A South State championship where the Tartars will travel to Bassfield next Friday.
