Woman arrested, accused of embezzling funds from Shady Grove Booster Club

A Laurel woman is free on bond following her arrest Friday in connection with money missing from the Shady Grove Booster Club bank account.

According to the Jones County Sheriff’s Office, Misty Steele, 31, 41 Lawrence Welborne Rd., Laurel, was taken into custody Friday, and was released Saturday on a $10,000 bond set by Judge David Lyons.

She is charged with one count of embezzlement in connection with approximately $4,000 missing from Shady Grove Booster Club.

No other details of the investigation were available.
