Wedding and Engagement Policy

The Leader-Call is happy to print an article about your wedding or engagement. A form to submit the information may be obtained from the newsroom.

Engagement announcements must be submitted no later than one month before the wedding takes place; wedding announcements, no later than one year (12 months) after the ceremony. Otherwise, we may not be able to accommodate your request for publication. A 5x7 color or black and white photograph is recommended. Photographs can be mailed, dropped off at the office or emailed. If photographs are emailed they should be in jpeg format and sent to people@laurelleadercall.com. Announcements can also emailed to people@laurelleadercall.com. Please contact the People editor within 72 hours to verify it has been received. The fee for an engagement announcement up to 250 words with a photo is $45, without a photo $35.

The fee for a wedding announcement up to 350 words is $55 with a photo, $45 without a photo. Payment can be made by credit card, brought by the office, or mailed to the Leader-Call. All announcements will be included in Celebrations on leadercall.com.

Announcements must be submitted and paid for at the latest by noon on Thursday before the Sunday it is wished to run.

All submissions must include a contact name and phone number. All announcements are subject to editing according to Associated Press Style at the editor’s discretion. Contact the People Editor at 601-428-0551 or

Celebrations is a service provided to clients for no additional charge. You can post photos and information about special events surrounding you engagement and wedding. This service is only available for clients who have a valid email address. Contact the People editor for more details.
