About us
  • History

The area's first daily newspaper was started August 11, 1911, by Edgar G. Harris. It was originally called The Laurel Daily Argus, before becoming the Laurel Daily Leader and then the Laurel Leader-Call in February 1930.

The look of the community newspaper and the method in which it is produced has changed greatly over the past 98 years, but present staff members take great pride in continuing a rich tradition of community service.

The Leader-Call, which reaches more than 20,000 readers four days a week, serves as the leading source for local news and advertising. Staff members work diligently to provide a quality daily newspaper for a quality community.
