The Oshiwara Police Station in recent reports has asserted that they have indeed received a complaint from Dutta and are now investigating matter.
Dutta on Saturday filed a police complaint against Patekar who allegedly sexually harassed her on the sets of a film in 2008. "Although we have spoken and written to her (regarding the matter) she is yet to revert", Amit Behl, Senior Joint Secretary, CINTAA, told PTI. According to sources, Akshay's complaint states that the video was taken during a media interaction where he was asked about another actor but it was edited in a way that it appears as if he's speaking against Tanushree Dutta. "We have sent a communication to Nana also", Behl added. She also named choreographer Ganesh Acharya, director Rakesh Sarang and producer Sami Siddiqui as accomplices in the harassment she faced.
Dutta said she had also received "violent threats" from the fringe, far-right nationalist group Maharashtra Navnirman Sena and has been hounded by a "smear campaign" on social media since reiterating her claims against the pair.
Tanushree Dutta's version of events have been partly backed by two women who were on set in 2008, a journalist and a crew member who was then an assistant director.
Agnihotri's lawyers denied the charges and sent Dutta a legal notice for defamation.
Dutta's claims sparked a number of allegations against men in India's media and entertainment industry.
Akshay has recently wrapped up Rajasthan schedule of his upcoming film Housefull 4, which interestingly also stars Nana Patekar.
