Former first daughter Barbara Bush gets married

Former President George Bush took on another important role this weekend, walking his daughter down the aisle at her wedding.

Barbara Bush, the second daughter of President George W. Bush and Laura Bush, married her love Craig Coyne in a private ceremony over the weekend at the family's ME estate.

The family made the announcement and released photos of the wedding Monday morning. Sister Jenna Bush and her family were also among the witnesses.

Bush got engaged to Coyne, an actor known for Jarhead and The Snowtown Murders, during a family gathering at Kennebunkport in the summer. He reportedly dropped to one knee in the very spot where Barbara's grandparents got engaged nearly exactly 75 years earlier, in August 1943. "And at one point we were all praying and Poppy ran and nearly tackled Barbara and gave her a huge hug". "I'm so proud to be this beauties sister". "And we're thrilled to welcome Craig Coyne to our family", the former president wrote on Instagram.

Her namesake and grandmother, former first lady Barbara Bush, died at age 92 in April.

Laura Bush called it "a wonderful day".

"A very short, sweet ceremony", Barbara told People magazine. Her aunt, Dorothy Bush Koch, officiated the ceremony. Barbara customized her custom Vera Wang gown of ivory silk crepe with a reminder of her late grandmother.

Barbara Bush, daughter of former President George W. Bush, was married Sunday.

According to Page Six, couple sent family and close friends mysterious invitations to an "unspecified celebration", a celebration that turned out to be their wedding.

"We've been excited to do such a small wedding with just our family", Barbara Bush told People.

"Happy tears, heart exploding as I watched this handsome girl get married in the place that means love and family", Jenna posted on Instagram.
