Now we have our first look at Kate Kane's costumed alter ego.
The 2018 Elseworlds crossover event starts with a special episode of The Flash on Sunday, December 9 and continues with Arrow on Monday, December 10. The costume was designed by award-winning costume designer, Colleen Atwood.
In the photo below, Rose has a full head of fiery red hair. The character is described as a hero with a flair for social justice who isn't afraid to speak her mind.
THR notes that with casting Rose to play Kate Kane, "The CW's superhero stable now includes an out lesbian superhero played by a lesbian actress as well as a trans actress playing a trans superhero, with activist Nicole Maines joining Supergirl as a series regular this season".
The gender-fluid Orange is the New Black star is set to make her debut as lesbian superhero Batwoman in The CW superhero universe in December. "In a city desperate for a savior, Kate must overcome her own demons before embracing the call to be Gotham's symbol of hope".
Ruby Rose is answering the Bat-Signal, and she looks incredible doing it. I'm also an emotional wreck. because this is a childhood dream. Furthermore, the epic event will also introduce the Monitor (Designated Survivor's LaMonica Garrett), a DC Comics character of multiversal importance, Lois Lane (Grimm's Elizabeth Tulloch), and Nora Fries (Cassandra Jean Amell). "This is something I would have died to have seen on TV when I was a young member of the LGBT community who never felt represented on TV and felt alone and different".
