The OnePlus 6T is coming to the United States via T-Mobile this October and will likely be the first phone widely available in the U.S. featuring a fingerprint reader inside the screen.
Fingerprint on display will be paired with Face Unlock in the OnePlus 6T, so you'll have a couple of options when it comes to unlocking your phone quickly.
The OnePlus 6T - the follow up to the One Plus 6 - will reportedly launch with a new feature known as Screen Unlock.
The tech, dubbed Screen Unlock, reduces the number of steps needed to unlock the phone, the rep said. I am hoping that OnePlus can pull off a miracle and improve the current state of in-display fingerprint sensor technology.
The forthcoming OnePlus 6T from Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus will come with an in-display fingerprint reader, making for a quick alternative to facial recognition unlock.
In addition to confirming the inclusion of this feature, the company also started teasing a "Top Secret Message", likely for the upcoming device.
Leaked images of the alleged retail box of the phone suggested that the OnePlus 6T's design will be based on the Oppo R17 Pro with a waterdrop notch. We don't yet know what will be the goal of the third camera: it could be a telephoto lens, a super wide-angle lens or a dedicated black-and-white shooter (our bet is on a tele lens).
At this stage there are very few phones available that have an in-display fingerprint sensor but we do know of some coming soon.
In order to accommodate the new technology, the design of the OnePlus 6T will be "slightly tweaked" compared to its predecessor, with the incoming flagship set to be slightly thicker with re-arranged internals. If the company decides to introduce in-display fingerprint sensors, they will have a tough time going back to LCD panels. According to the report in CNET, the finger-on-display technology would allow the OnePlus 6T to feature a unibody look. Therefore, it is expected that the OnePlus 6T would take the technology from Vivo.
