Nintendo Switch Online service launches September 18

Perhaps the more intriguing out of the two is the NES Controllers for the Switch. You can check out some images of the controllers in the gallery below.

Nintendo recently announced that its online subscription service will be going live in the United States on September 18 and a day later in Europe. Online play, Save Data Cloud backup and Nintendo Switch Online smartphone app features available in compatible games. Other games will have the standard-fare multiplayer enhanced for online multiplayer.

As if the Nintendo Switch wasn't getting enough awesome accessories already (like that GameCube controller and adapter), it's set to become home to classic gaming NES fun! "It will also be possible to play these games offline". The patch will arrive alongside the launch of Nintendo Switch Online.

It'll be free for the first week but after that it'll cost £3.49 a month, £6.99 for three months, or £17.99 for a year. Nintendo will also offer a family bundle for $34.99 that allows up to eight people to use the same subscription. Previously, playing online was free, but once Switch Online debuts, everyone will need to pay to play online.

Nintendo Switch owners will not be automatically charged when the service launches in the second half of September, the company confirmed last month.
