She explains, "Because of the amounts of rain, they're anticipating a lot of flooding".
The Red Cross Relief Doughnut is a strawberry shortcake donut, made with local strawberries from Hurricane Creek Farms, topped with vanilla icing.
Donors can designate their donation to Hurricane Florence relief efforts by choosing that option when donating on redcross.org or on 1-800-RED CROSS.
One hundred percent of of all donations designated for Florence will be used in response to this disaster. Working with partners, the Red Cross has served 150,700 meals and snacks in North Carolina and SC.
Baker said getting supplies to those who need them is a challenge.
Members of New York Task Force 1 have been in North Carolina since last week.
"We've become good at it", Russ says.
"For me, it hasn't been that bad since I've had electricity everywhere I've been", Anderson said.
"We are prepared and are projected to serve as many as 100,000 people", said Robertson. So we do have volunteers who are willing to deploy later this week.
In the wake of the storm's aftermath, residents need our help.
The Red Cross recommends blood donations and monetary donations.
"We're a national organization, but we have local disasters too", said Riddle. All we're trying to do is bring some stability to what's happening there and to start getting people started in the recovery process. "Our donation will give much-needed help to communities impacted by Hurricane Florence".
There are still many ways people can help though.
On Saturday, more than 30 other emergency response vehicles from around the country will roll in at the Macon State Farmers Market on Eisenhower Parkway.
