Delta Air Lines Resumes Flights After IT Issue

Earlier the company issued a groundstop as its IT teams worked to address a technology issue impacting some of its systems. "We apologize to all customers for this inconvenience", the statement said. Delta flights were not leaving the gates and incoming flights are being stopped on taxiways because there are no gates.

Delta's Twitter account was busy Tuesday afternoon responding to angry customers of the airline who complained of travel delays and being unable to log in to the company's website and app. We are experiencing technical difficulties at this time.

Check back at StarTribune.com for more information on this developing story. Only to say that technical support is working to fix the issue. "We appreciate your continued patience", reads one response from Delta. There were no disruptions or safety issues with any flight that was in the air, the carrier said.

"Our computer tracking system is temporarily down", Delta told another customer.

There was no immediate word on how many flights or travelers were affected.
