The new Xiaomi device is the successor of Mi A1 which was the company's first Android One device. Coming to the pricing, the MI A2 Android One smartphone with 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage will be costing Rs 16,999 in India. The Mi 8 features a notched 6.2-inch amoled display in 19:9 aspect ratio and a 7000 series aluminium frame.
As teased earlier, Xiaomi launched its latest Android One smartphone today in India. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC paired with an option between 4GB and 6GB of RAM and storage variants of 32GB, 64GB and 128GB.
You can pre-order the phone starting tomorrow from 12 p.m. onwards on Amazon.in and Mi.com. Reliance Jio customers will also get 4.5TB complimentary data along with a Rs 2,200 instant cashback. It will be exclusively sold via Amazon India, Mi.com, and Mi Home stores.
For photos, you're getting a dual-camera setup at the back that features a 12MP main sensor with an f/1.9 aperture lens and a 5MP secondary sensor for depth effects (bokeh). It has been four years and the company has taken on the competition to local as well as other Chinese smartphone makers while taking the fight to industry giants such as Samsung and Lenovo-owned Motorola. The Mi A2 features considerable improvements in design and camera over the outgoing device. As the device supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 4.0+, the user have to buy a compatible adapter separately to charge the device faster.
In terms of connectivity, the Mi A2 has the USB Type-C port, Bluetooth v5.0, Wi-Fi ac/b/g/n, GPS, and dual-SIM connectivity with 4G LTE and VoLTE. Eventually, this smartphone can be charged quickly without taking a lot of time. For selfies, the it has a 20MP selfie camera with flash, which is capable of delivering DSLR-like depth-of-field. The motorized camera module hides a 16MP + 20MP dual rear camera and a 25MP front camera.
