Amid LeBron James flap, Melania Trump again charts her own course

On Friday night, President Trump responded to a segment of Lemon interviewing LeBron James by insulting their intelligence.

Jordan, who rarely wades into the political fray, and other USA athletes rallied to James' defense on Saturday, praising him for his work in his community.

Amid the interview, Lemon and LeBron talked about the opening of another school in OH and the b-ball legend passed on a chance to scrutinize the president. Even a spokeswoman for first lady Melania Trump praised James's charity work and mentioned "responsible online behavior" in a statement some imagined was a subtle rebuke to her husband.

James, who just opened a state-of-the-art, tuition-free school in his home state of OH, has always been critical of Trump and his comments on race, which he repeated last week during an interview with CNN anchor Don Lemon.

In addition to his comments on James, Rodgers also voiced support for NFL players who have elected to kneel during the national anthem, saying that much of the anger over the protests misses "the point of what this was all about".

"What I've noticed over the past few months, [is] he's kinda used sports to kinda divide us, and that's something that I can't relate to", James said, later adding, "I can't sit back and say nothing".

To his list of evidence, Lemon added Trump's past embrace of a conspiracy theory that Barack Obama, "America's first black president", was born in Kenya and faked his USA citizenship.

"This week, LeBron opened a school for hundreds of at-risk kids while Donald Trump's education secretary attempts to undo college loan forgiveness for students who were 'knowingly deceived" by their schools, and rolls back Obama-era guidelines on discrimination in schools, ' Harrison Faigen, an National Basketball Association writer, posted. But James himself steered clear of the matter on social media, on Saturday tweeting only a picture of students at his new school with the message: "Let's get it kids!"

'LeBron puts children through school. Trump puts children in cages, ' his colleague Joseph Flynn wrote.

- I care, why don't you? "We, the decent and truly patriotic people who really love America and believe in this its greatness have to".

Going to White House was a great honor until you showed up!
