It’s official: Lakers announce LeBron James has signed

While the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Philadelphia 76ers were in the hunt to acquire James' services, ultimately Los Angeles won out.

However, instead of landing someone else like Paul George, who instead opted to stay in Oklahoma City, the Lakers added a few new veteran faces on one-year deals.

LeBron James came awfully close to staying in the Eastern Conference.

L.A.'s newest Laker officially signed his new four-year, almost $154-million contract Monday night alongside his agent Rich Paul and Lakers General Manager Rob Pelinka. The game proved to be James's final appearance for the Cavs as he signed a four-year deal with the Lakers this month.
