England fans 'dare to dream' after World Cup win over Sweden

Semi-finalists from the last two occasions England reached the final four of a major tournament have reacted to beating Sweden.

On Twitter, some fans talk about similar exploits in order to get attention, knowing there is no way South Korea will win the World Cup, ensuring they gain extra followers but do not have to seek out edible hats.

"We were composed, we controlled the game". They are really important messages for us.

"We are one of the youngest teams here, but we are an improving side and want to make history".

"Ben has just completed his #radiotherapy for a #braintumour, he was unable to walk and talk before his treatment but a week ago he asked for the World Cup, so we delivered", tweeted Liam Herbert, one of the hospital's pediatric radiographers.

"What I think about England national team is more or less what I think about France: a group of young players with talent".

"I think the players will like the fact that they're still recognising there's still a long way for them to go, that they're still a long way away from their peak".

'A high percentage of goals in knockout games come from set-plays and we have worked hard on them.

"I think England are definitely a good side", admitted AC Milan fan Michelangelo". I am so pleased that they can see (that). "That's the bedrock of why we are getting some decent results and we have to continue doing that".

"Harry Maguire is one of the players with the biggest potential at this World Cup", said Schmeichel, noting that he had watched him play alongside his son Kasper at Leicester over the past season, but that he had elevated his play.

"We are ready, we are ready for the challenge", Gerrard said as Rangers prepare to host Shkupi in the Europa League qualifiers next week. On the other hand they haven't pressure from the press and fans for the first time.

"Pickford for me is the sort of prototype of what the modern goalkeeper should be", said the 47-year-old Southgate.
