Daniel Cormier KOs Stipe Miocic to Make History (UFC 226 Highlights)

Brock Lesnar entered the Octagon and went after Daniel Cormier after he beat Stipe Miocic to become the second fighter to hold two UFC championships in two divisions at the same time after Conor McGregor.

Cormier shocked observers on Saturday night by knocking out reigning heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic in the first round of their super fight.

"It was D.C.'s night", said Miocic of the end of a title reign that saw him make the most successful defenses of the heavyweight belt in UFC history. Right when he got to my seat on the side he was acting like a lunatic. Playing an all too familiar character, the pay-per-view king gave Cormier a push worthy of a WWE highlight, went on an expletive laden rant about the heavyweight division, accepted Cormier's challenge and punched the camera lense. Suddenly, UFC had a double champion for only the second time in the company's history.

Lesnar was notably without the WWE Universal Championship.

After the fight, Cormier (who improved to 21-1) called out Lesnar and the big man was in the building. "Your day is in the past; 2010 is like the stone age".

"So the process has started, they started the process last week", White said at the UFC 226 post-fight press conference. "I don't know where they are in the process, but he's going to pop up on the board here soon, Monday or Tuesday".

But where does Daniel Cormier sit in the GOAT discussion? If Cormier were unwilling to rest until Lesnar is made available, Lewis would happily step right in. "DC, I'm coming for you motherfucker". [Francis] Ngannou is a piece of shit. "I'll do fake fighting with you until I put my fist upside of your face".

Cormier has never lost to anyone except Jon Jones, the star-crossed former light heavyweight champion who beat him twice.

White intends to match Cormier against Lesnar early next year, likely in March, after Lesnar completes the drug testing required by the UFC's anti-doping policy. This marked Lesnar's return to MMA after an nearly five-year retirement.

"They've known each other a long time with the whole wrestling thing", White said. I don't know what's going to happen.
