Warm and dry tonight, storm chances rumble in for Monday

The front touched off a round of heavy rain at times Monday morning in the Omaha area.

A slight chance of afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms is in store for an otherwise mostly-sunny Tuesday with a high of 78 and a low of 63.

Between 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. Monday, the Omaha, Council Bluffs, Lincoln and southwest Iowa areas will be under a moderate risk for heavy rain, hail and strong winds.

All of eastern Kentucky is under a marginal risk (1 out of 5) for severe weather. Luckily, humidity will drop behind the cold front by Tuesday.

Rain showers develop into the late morning and early afternoon. Our drier air will remain place, reducing but not eliminating rain chances. An isolated storm can't be ruled out this afternoon mainly to the southeast along I-44. Lows will be around 60.

Fri: High: 95 Low: 73 Mostly sunny, breezy. Highs will be in the mid and upper 80's through Wednesday. Storms look to slide out for most of next Sunday with highs returning to the low 90s. There is a complex of showers and storms moving through IL and IN thi which will impact the Miami Valley this afternoon. Expect a 30 percent chance of nighttime showers and thunderstorms. Because of the fact will keep the rain chance in and at least more cloud cover, highs may only be in the 80s for the coolest day of the week.

Saturday night - Partly cloudy with a low in the lower 70s.
