Lewandowski on migrant girl with Down syndrome: ‘Wah wah’

Lewandowski worked as campaign manager for Trump during the U.S. president's 2016 campaign.

"Did you just say "Wah wah" to a 10-year-old with Down syndrome being taken from her mother?"

Lewandowski interrupted, mockingly interjecting, "womp womp". "How dare you, how absolutely dare you sir, how dare you".

Lewandowski's response sent Petkanas into a rage.

The girl's story was originally shared by Mexican Foreign Minister Luis Videgaray, who called the ordeal "particularly painful". Videgaray said the girl had been travelling with her mother and brother when the children were separated from their mother by border police.

According to the Washington Post, the girl in question was sent to a Texas shelter even though Mexican authorities said that her father, a legal USA resident, lived an hour away down the highway. Their father, a legal USA resident, is working with the United States consulate to get the girl released.

These tone-deaf comments come in the face of unsettling audio that was recently obtained from inside a U.S. Customs and Border Protection facility where an agent can be heard joking, "We have an orchestra here", as children cry in the background. "Of course, this case in particular we have pointed it out to the American authorities at the highest levels".

When tempers cooled slightly, Lewandowski tried to claim that Trump's family separation policy was actually the same policy carried out by the Barack Obama administration.

Among them was now Megan Kelly Today host, Kelly who tweeted out: "There is no low to which this coward Corey Lewandowski won't sink".
