Anthem, the next game from developers Bioware, is coming out on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on the 22nd of February, 2019. However, they did also note that playing solo can be more hard. There are four javelins you can use: storm, interceptor, ranger, and colossus. The story unfolds through a series of critical missions and side missions in a seamless world with no loading screens between zones.
Positively though, there will still be meaningful interactions with NPCs and players will have an easy way to find a squad even if they don't have three other Anthem-playing friends.
Strongholds: The most challenging of the missions that feature hard mobs and bosses.
"We're also designing it so you can add story for years to come" she continues, "The premise of Anthem is that it is a world left behind, unfinished, by the gods".
If your team includes players of different levels everyone's damage output is scaled to match. If you prefer to go it alone, you can do that too.
Anthem looks to focus more on movement than Destiny, and we saw pre-rendered footage of players zipping around with jetpacks. They have achieved this by making the base areas single player but the wider world is a persistent multiplayer space right down to every player experiencing weather effects at the same time. Although the game will support both solo and co-op play, it will not offer an offline mode and will require an always-online connection in order to be played.
There will be paid for cosmetics and vanity items, but there will not be any no loot boxes or pay-for-power options. The sci-fi action game from Mass Effect and Dragon Age studio Bioware debuted with a slick trailer at E3 2017 showing off giant mechanised suits, sprawling, bustling environments and visuals that appeared to be realistically unachievable on current generation consoles.
How do you think ANTHEM's sounding so far? It will be running at 30FPS (unlocked on PC) but 4K is not confirmed, "We'll see" say EA.
The game's director revealed earlier that fans will be getting a beta period. This is the show where some of the biggest names in gaming gather together to show off what they've got planned for the next few years and there's no better way to do that than with a seriously impressive trailer.
