Gradual extension of these weather activities will take place and starting tonight, thunderstorm, dust storm and lightning strikes are also possible over Punjab, Haryana and may even reach Delhi NCR region.
In an advisory, the department also said thunderstorms with gusty winds are "very likely" in parts of Himachal Pradesh, east Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand.
Last night, a dust storm with wind speed of up to 70kmph had hit Delhi followed by a squall.
