Public's Help Sought in Tying Golden State Killer Suspect to Goleta Slayings

Nearly a month later on April 24, authorities in Sacramento arrested former police officer Joseph James DeAngelo after identifying him through DNA evidence acquired through a GEDmatch profile.

The 72-year old man accused in a spree of rapes and murders across California chose to show up in court Wednesday morning.
