OLIVE BRANCH: Katy Perry, Taylor Swift on verge of settling feud

The pop star shared a video on her Instagram stories of a package that included a olive branch - the literally sign of a peace offering - and a note.

"This means so much to me", she added, captioning the video, "Thank you Katy". Enclosed along with the note was an actual olive branch, officially ending the pop duo's long-simmering rift. See the best reactions below. Perry, 33, described her 2017 single, "Swish Swish", as "a great anthem for people to use whenever somebody's trying to hold you down or bully you". "I've been doing some reflecting on past miscommunications and hurt feelings between us".

The Roar singer sent Swift an actual olive branch ahead of her Reputation Stadium Tour opening show in Arizona on Tuesday, making it clear she wanted to be friends with her rival after they reportedly fell out when Katy nabbed some of Swift's dancers for a string of live dates.

The feud was ignited by Kanye's track Famous where he said the lyrics "I made that b**** famous", in reference to when he stormed the MTV VMA's stage in 2009 when Taylor was collected her award for MTV VMA Video of The Year. "I don't think there would be any personal problem if she weren't competitive".

"For years, I was never sure if we were friends or not", Swift said of the song's female subject. "There's a situation. Honestly, it's really like she started it, and it's time for her to finish it". "I'm ready to let it go".

"I forgive her and I'm sorry for anything I ever did, and I hope the same from her ..."
