Newport Police Department participates in National Police Week

It continues to do so now with different events and ceremonies to honor the fallen.

Two members of the law enforcement community in Washington State will be added to the National Memorial. The Memorial Fund maintains the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington, DC, which contains the names of 21,541 officers who have died in the line of duty throughout USA history.

Eleven officers have died in the line of duty while serving Syracuse. Edgecombe County Deputy David Lee'Sean Manning and Scotland County deputy Alexis "Thunder" Eagle Locklear died in March.

Certainly, the interaction most officers have with the general public while in uniform comes at a bad time in that individual's life - as either victims or perpetrators of some kind of crime, even if it's just a traffic infraction.

The New Providence Police officers raised nearly $6,000 in order to ride and spent an additional $2,000 of their own funds to purchase bicycles, uniforms and additional items needed for the three day ride.

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Officers Hall of Fame held an induction ceremony May 2 for four South Carolina law enforcement officers killed in the line-of-duty past year.

For example, the legislation stipulated that a "black line with a blue line of equal proportion above and below the black line" must be included in the design to represent the "thin blue line". Men and women who put their lives on the line every day they head into work. She says the event is also a way for the public to let officers who serve the community each day know how much they are appreciated. Trump said. "We're not going to let bad things happen to our police".

Tuesday, May 15, 2018, in Chico, there will be a service recognizing and honoring members of California's extensive law enforcement family.

"You're not forgotten. Your families are always remembered", Dean said.

"Pflugerville PD honoring our fallen heroes at the 30th Annual Candellight Vigil".

"We don't want it anymore".

And, although the fallen are no longer with us, their names and their memories will forever be a part of Iowa.

The Day of Prayer Ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, at the Houston Police Officers' Union located at 1600 State Street.

Superior Court Judge Jeffery Foster gave the benediction.

It takes a special person to be successful in law enforcement. "I have heard recent stories of police officers, during a typical traffic stop, being challenged on their authority when asking for a license and registration in the hopes that the individuals involved in the stop can be the next social media video hit. It's a unsafe profession".

"And they're doing it for my family and for your family", Foster said.
