Nawaz Sharif Admits Pakistani Terrorists Carried Out 26/11 Mumbai Attacks

Former Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has admitted that Pakistan played a role in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks. Mr. Sharif said, referring to the trial in Pakistan of those involved in the 2008 Mumbai attacks.

"He was called to Pakistan by a person who is wanted in for terrorist activities in Mumbai. Explain it to me", he asked, in a clear reference to the Mumbai killings blamed on 10 Pakistani terrorists. "Why can't we complete the trial?" he said, according to the newspaper. Without naming Mumbai attack mastermind Hafiz Saeed and Maulana Masood Azhar's militant organisations - Jamaat-ud-Dawah and Jaish-e-Mohammad, - operating in the country with impunity, Sharif said, "Militant organisations are active in Pakistan". He is actively organising collection of donations in Punjab coinciding with the wheat harvesting season, said a report quoting sources. He indicated that his country should look into why its narrative that it had been fighting terrorism had not been accepted by the global community "despite sacrifices".

Sitharaman also said that it proved India's position that the handlers of 26/11 Mumbai terror attack were in Pakistan.

The attack occurred in India, where 90 per cent of the proofs were present but India refused to share those with Pakistan, Nisar remarked. Afghanistans narrative is being accepted, but ours is not. He claimed that although Pakistan had cooperated with the Indian government for information-sharing regarding every terrorist incident, India had not reciprocated for incidents taking place inside Pakistan, including the arrest of Indian spy Kulbhushan Jadhav. We must look into it, he told Dawn.

A meeting of the National Security Committee (NSC) has been suggested to Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi to discuss misleading media statement on the Mumbai incident, Director-General of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Sunday.

Nisar said Pakistan repeatedly sought cooperation from the Indian government but it always used the incident against Pakistan on political grounds for its despicable plans.

"This disclosure of Sharif would definitely embarrass the Pakistan army and the ISI on the global platform", Nikam said.

The Mumbai case is being tried in an anti-terrorism court since 2009 but the case isn't going anywhere.

All of Pakistan's requests, letters, and announcements regarding the Mumbai attacks have been recorded, which are safe with the FIA, he added. Not only is the probe going slow, the masterminds Zaki-ur-Rehman and Hafiz Saeed are now roaming freely in Pakistan.
