Android P Beta Now Available to OnePlus 6 After Official Launch

OnePlus 6 is the company's big flagship for this year. The improved internals on the smartphone offers almost 30 per cent better performance in daily usage and gaming when compared to its predecessor, OnePlus stated. OnePlus has retained the 3.5-mm headphone jack on its smartphone, but it doesn't support wireless charging despite having a glass build. The phone will succeed the OnePlus 5T and is OnePlus most ambitious flagship till date.

Design and displayAt 6.28in, the Full Optic AMOLED screen on the OnePlus 6 is the largest on any OnePlus phone yet, and with its 2280x1080 resolution and pixel density of 402ppi, it's also the highest-resolution (just). The front of the smartphone is an all-screen display.

Under the hood, the OnePlus 6 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845, compared to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 in the OnePlus 5T and OnePlus 5.

The worldwide variant of the OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T already received the Android 8.1 Oreo update last month. For the OnePlus 5T, the update brings full-screen gestures.

The OnePlus 6 comes with some improvements while keeping the camera configurations mostly the same. There are three colour options on offer - Midnight Black, Mirror Black and a Silk White version, which apparently has a layer of crushed pearl baked into its chassis to give it an iridescent sheen.

The OnePlus 6 is now official and has been launched in India starting at Rs 34,999. However, without a more in-depth look at the new cameras, its too soon to say just how significant the upgrade really is. On the plus side, the glossy rear is flawless for using as a makeshift mirror. It's also packing dual rear-facing cameras, face unlock and a fingerprint scanner, plus up to 256GB of storage. OnePlus took the wraps off its 2018 flagship at its London launch event yesterday, and we were presented with the features, design and specifications of the smartphone. There are two more variants - one with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage, and other with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage.

While we're yet to put the handset's battery life to the test, we can tell you that the device is impressively slick - nothing we've yet thrown at the device has caused it to show any signs of slow down.

We saw the likes of OnePlus 3/3T and OnePlus 5/5T make it to the outgoing Android Oreo's beta program.

To turn your OnePlus 6 off, hold the power button and tap the shut down option.

The new features in Android P include a notch and multi-camera support, improved notification panel, design changes, new security features, and more.
